Overview
Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province and the most populous city in central China, lies at the east of Jianghan Plain and the intersection of the middle reaches of the Yangtze and Han River.
Wuhan city is divided by Yangtze River into three boroughs, Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang. Wuhan, known as "the Thoroughfare to Nine Provinces", is the political, economic, financial, cultural and educational center of Hubei province as well as the major transportation hub.
Abundant rainfall, sunshine and distinctive four seasons are the gift of the northern subtropical monsoon climate, which Wuhan belongs to, and with the affection of the terrain, summer in Wuhan is very hot, known as "one of the three furnaces"(alongside Nanjing city and Chongqing city) in China. Furthermore, as a well known historical and cultural city, most of the scenic spots have the connections with Yangtze River, including Yellow Crane Tower, the first bridge of Yangtze River- Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, the largest lake within city- Dong Lake, Buddhist holy site- Guiyuan Temple, hundred years old street- Jianghan Road and so on.
The snacks of Wuhan focus on breakfast, the representatives are hot and dry noodles, Skin of bean curd and soup bun. Wuhan cuisine adheres to the style of Hubei cuisine, which refer to freshwater fish and crabs are indispensable on the especially for Wuchang fish and the crab of Liangzi lake.
