Zhucheng City has superior geographic location and convenient transportation. It is an important transportation hub in Shandong peninsula, because it has a world famous “Kite City” Weifang in the north, a coastal city Qingdao in the east, and a port city Rizhao in the south. The railway from Jiaozhou in Shandong to Xinyi city in Jiangsu and Jinan-Qingdao Expressway southbound lane both cross Zhucheng.

Zhucheng City is well known as a land of long history and a Birth place of creative minds and gifted talents. It gained the name after the birth of Shun, who is a great ancient King, in a village called Zhufeng in the north of the city. It was set counties in Han Dynasty and it also was the seat of Mizhou in Song Dynasty. Su Dongpo, who was a mighty poet, worked there as Taishou for two years. Zhucheng is famous for various dinosaur fossils which rare in China, and the world largest duck-billed dinosaur was unearthed and on display in the city. Therefore, Zhucheng is also called “Dinosaur City”.

Zhucheng City is rich in nature resources. The industry develops rapidly. The three leading industries, automobile and auto parts, food processing, and textiles and clothing, are successfully founded, and the output value and taxes accounted for more than 85% separately in the total industry of the city. At the same time, the city focus on the development of such emerging industry as fine chemical industry, equipment manufacturing, electronic information, paper packaging, wooden furniture and building materials.

The foundation of agriculture is powerful. It is the birthplace of the industrialization of agriculture, and it is also the production base of grain, tobacco and lean pig in the whole country. Twelve leadings industries have been developed, as chichens, pigs, cured tobacco, cereals and oil, vegetables, cotton, fresh water aquaculture, silkworm, mushroom and marigold, etc.
