Qujing City covers an area of 28,904 square kilometers with population of 5.446 million. It’s administrative districts are Qilin District, Xuanwei City, Luliang County, Huize County, Fuyuan County, Luoping County, Malong County, Shizong County, Zhanyi County.
Qujing City is located in the center of the Yunnan- Guizhou Altiplano. It is a very important land route connecting Yunnan Province with other parts of China, and thus has been called "the Gate to Yunnan" and "the Throat of Yunnan". The Wumeng Mountain stretches for hundreds of miles, and is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The Mountain is the watershed of the two water systems: the Yangtse River and the Zhujiang River. Qujing is the second largest city of Yunnan Province, with Kunming ranking the first. It is also an important industrial city of Yunnan.
Qujing cuisine can be considered one of the most tastefull and diverse within China. Famous dishes like XuanWei rou originate from this area. As a result of this, restaurant density is extremely high in the city.
Numerous parks are located in the area. Fantastic hiking opportunities! For nightlife go to the area near the famous South Gate. Several karaoke bars and club can be found right next to a great restaurant filled street.
