Wudalianchi is located in the north of Heilongjiang Province and the transitional zone of Songnen plain and Xiaoxing'anling with the total area of 9874 square kilometers and the total population of 360000 people. There are 3 country-level towns, 7 countries, 3 city state-run livestock farms, 6 state-run forest farms in the whole city. Wudalianchi is relatively rich in natural resources. Wudalianchi mineral water, the Vichy mineral spring in France and the north Caucasus mineral spring in Russia are called the world's three major cold mineral springs. The mineral spring is good for medical treatment and health. Wudalianchi is the only town of mineral water in China. The city was included in the list of China's top ten leisure cities in 2007 and succeeded in being evaluated provincial level hygienic city in August 2008. In November 2008, Wudalianchi was listed in 20 most potential small and medium-sized cities of investment. The national Class (Ⅱ) Shankou water-control project which is invested 340000000 Yuan is appraised as national Class AAA tourist attraction and national water-control scenic spot.
